Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Account: your name, email address, and password credentials (handled by our authentication provider; we never see your password).

Household & preferences: household member names you choose to enter, age categories, dietary restrictions, allergies, food likes/dislikes, nutrition goals, cooking preferences, budget, and meal schedule. Allergy and dietary information is used solely to plan safe, suitable meals — never for advertising.

Usage: meal plans, recipes you save or create, meal feedback, grocery-list activity, and pantry items — this is what makes your planning smarter over time.

Location (optional): a city you provide, converted to approximate coordinates for weather-aware planning. We do not access device GPS.

2. What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not use your household, allergy, or health-related inputs for anything except running SimplyPlate for you.

3. Who processes your data

Supabase hosts our database and authentication (your data is stored encrypted at rest).

Open-Meteo receives approximate coordinates (never your identity) to fetch weather for planning.

When paid AI features launch, recipe text or images you explicitly submit for import/processing will be sent to our AI provider to perform that request; we send the minimum needed and do not send your household profile wholesale.

When subscriptions launch, our payment processor (e.g., Stripe or the app marketplace) handles payment details; we never store card numbers.

4. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account anytime from Profile → Delete account: this permanently removes your account, household, plans, preferences, feedback, and recipes you created. You can also email us to request deletion.

Calendar data, if you later connect a calendar, is limited to busy/free windows and retained only as long as needed for planning.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact dev@simply-plate.com and we will honor applicable requests.

6. Children

SimplyPlate accounts are for users 13 and older. Household member entries (for example, a child's meal preferences) are provided by the account holder and used only for meal planning.

7. Changes and contact

If we materially change this policy we will notify you in-app or by email before the change takes effect.
